Joe Fresh kind of day

Hello Everyone!  I'm a little behind on updating.  Look forward to many updates the next few day.

The two colors above are from Joe Fresh.  This is a Canadian company, so their polishes are not sold in the US.  The red is called Sweet Tart, its a shimmery red that looks almost pink on my nails.  This color is on my toes currently.  ( Yes I'm going to post a pic of my feet. )

My feet are hideous, but I really dig how this color looks on my toes, and makes them a little more bearable to look at.  The formula is really good and this is 2 coats, with a coat of Seche Vite,  they shine and look almost Fuscia.

Not onto my fingers, Joe Fresh Bronze.  I didn't think I would like the color, but man it is a sexy color.

As you can see it is a metallic color I really really dig it. This is 2 coats as well. Joe Fresh has a great formula, the only downfall to this polish is you can see the brush strokes in it.  I can over look that because this color is so awesome.

If you have a chance to try Joe Fresh, you should.

Do y'all like bronze or shimmery red?  Let me know that you think.  I really like hearing from y'all!

Candlelight Vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance

Hello everyone. I was inspired to post this by Fitzy, from Lacquerlad
He is pretty cool.  You should definitely check out his blog if you haven't.

He posted about the Transgender Day of Remembrance, and I was inspired by his story to post something to support this day as well.

I've never known a transgendered person before, but I have seen stories about how badly they are mistreated because they are different.  It is really sad, that because a person is born in the wrong body that people treat them like they are worthless.  I've heard many stories about how a transgendered person was beaten to death or committed suicide because of the hate that is in the world.  Everyone is equal regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.

Take a second to check out the TDoR website.

Dollish Polish Glitter

Hello Everyone!!!

I wanna take a second to say thank you for all of the positive feedback!  You all have blown me away.  One of the reasons I never wore nail polish before, was because I was so afraid of what others would think.  I should have done this so much sooner.  I have never been so happy in my entire life.  I owe all of you and everyone I've met on Twitter for making this be the time of my life.  I thank each of you for the positive comments, feedback and help when I ask noob questions.

Now on to the swatches....

This first one is the only pic I snagged of the blue, I had a few things on my mind and spaced before getting more pics....  Please forgive me.

I am wearing 2 coats of Joe Fresh Indigo and 1 coat of Dollish Polish, It's A Me, Mario.

The Joe Fresh polishes were received from the lovely Mary, @mellinail, and Dollish Polish was sent to me by Jasminem @ColourCoated.

The formula for the Joe Fresh is great and it is very opaque.  The Dollish is a clear coat with with red and blue round glitter with silver stars.  This is the only pic that I have of this mani.

I was also sent Go Luigi by Dollish. It is a clear coat with green and blue round glitter and silver stars.

In these pics I am wearing Wet & Wild Poison Ivy with Go Luigi on top.

Please pardon the clean up.

I am really starting to like glitter on top of my nail polish.  So much so that I have gotten with Anastasia from Lac Attack to make me a custom glitter polish.  If you like glitter polish, check out her site and order some nail polish.  She is an awesome lady and her polishes are really awesome!

I decided to start wearing polish to work

Hello again,

Two posts in one night!!!

So I know a lot of you follow me on twitter  and I'm sure you already know.  For those that do not, I have been wearing nail polish to work for a little over a week.

I originally wanted to slowly introduce me wearing nail polish very slowly.  I was going to wear a nude color and slowly ramp it up to the colors I like.

I had asked about wearing nail polish to work and met a little resistance.  ( if you would like insight, send me an email, I will gladly share the story with you)

Well since it was Halloween I decided that this would be the day I would wear nail polish for the first time.  Trouble was I have no nude polishes....  What to wear, what to wear????

I decided to wear Gosh Galaxy.  A very awesome gold shimmery/scattered holo...  This was not an ease them into it, it was a I kicked the door open and yelled, " I'M WEARING NAIL POLISH!!!"

See:

Subtle huh?  NOT!!!

Well when this was seen I got some pretty negative reactions.  (again if you wanna hear the story email me and I will share it with you)

Well, the negative comments didn't deter me, I have worn nail polish nearly every day since here are pics:

Men should not be afraid to do this.  IT DOES NOT MATTER IF OTHER PEOPLE THINK ITS WEIRD.  If you like nail polish don't be afraid to express yourself.

EPIC Saran Wrap Mani.......FAIL

A few of us decided we would do a Saran Wrap Mani for this Saturday.  You should check everyone's out:

Polish Me Please
The Nail Polish Enthusiast
Lacquer Lad

I may have forgot some, I did I'm so sorry and I will update this as soon as I figure it out.

Now on to my mani....

Warning: Disasticure
NOTE: I did not come up with this term, Polish Me Please and The Little Canvas did.

I have been thinking about what to do with this mani for a week now.  I had lots of time to figure out what I wanted to do and what colors to use.  Yeah, in my brain this mani was going to be AMAZING!

It was going to have a pretty red base color, OPI - Ali's Big Break, with a black top color applied with saran wrap.  It was also going to have an accent finger on each hand w/ half red and half black, with red glitter on top of the accent.  Sound awesome?  Hell yeah!  I thought this was going to look great.  Well, guess what..... It didn't look nothing like it looked in my head.  Disasticure in full effect!!!!

The red base was awesome.  I should have stopped there.  OPI - Ali's Big Break is a shimmery red.  The black that I used is China Glaze - Liquid Leather a really awesome black creme. I made a mess all over the place and clean up took nearly an hour, I didn't want to get polish or acetone on my phone so I don't have pics of all the stages.....

The red, 1 coat prior to clean up....

This one is partial clean up I literally had black all over my fingers...

I messed up thumbs on both hand and tried to fix it by adding more black, which made it look like crackle...

The next few are after clean up, I kind of gave up on it because I was defeated.

My ring fingers were supposed to be accents, and you cant even see it.....  FACEPALM!!!!

Long storie short.  I feel like I messed this up.  I was down on myself at first, but this is my second attempt at a saran wrap mani.  I have only been painting my nails for a little over a month now.  I have lots to be proud of...

1- I am getting pretty good at painting my nails and clean up, compared to what it was, thisis tones better.
2- I have made so many friends, this last month.  The kindness that you all show blows me away.  The nail polish and beauty blogging community it amazing!
3- My polish stash is growing!
4- I am learning hints and techniques on how to become a better polisher and blogger.

Let me now some of your disaticure stories.
