Two posts in one night!!!
So I know a lot of you follow me on twitter and I'm sure you already know. For those that do not, I have been wearing nail polish to work for a little over a week.
I originally wanted to slowly introduce me wearing nail polish very slowly. I was going to wear a nude color and slowly ramp it up to the colors I like.
I had asked about wearing nail polish to work and met a little resistance. ( if you would like insight, send me an email, I will gladly share the story with you)
Well since it was Halloween I decided that this would be the day I would wear nail polish for the first time. Trouble was I have no nude polishes.... What to wear, what to wear????
I decided to wear Gosh Galaxy. A very awesome gold shimmery/scattered holo... This was not an ease them into it, it was a I kicked the door open and yelled, " I'M WEARING NAIL POLISH!!!"
See:
Subtle huh? NOT!!!
Well when this was seen I got some pretty negative reactions. (again if you wanna hear the story email me and I will share it with you)
Well, the negative comments didn't deter me, I have worn nail polish nearly every day since here are pics:
Men should not be afraid to do this. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF OTHER PEOPLE THINK ITS WEIRD. If you like nail polish don't be afraid to express yourself.
Yayyyyy!!! So proud of you! :) You rock that nail polish!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristine! That really means a lot
DeleteLoving this blog post, the pictures look great, and your positive attitude pops right off the screen! I wish more people were like this, the world would be a better place x x x
ReplyDeleteWendy, thank you so much. The positive feedback I get from the nail community is helping me go further and further and makes me so happy
DeleteI completely agree on the fact that men should wear nailpolish if they feel like doing so :) Never mind the people who think that it's a girl thing! Nail polish was already worn by Chinese and Egyptian men thousands of years ago to show social class, power and royalty :)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! It means I'm in good company
DeleteGood for you bravely polished man! I am a cheerleader for manlypolishing!
ReplyDeleteYou are so nice! Thank you so much for your support
DeleteAmen, brother!! Do what makes you happy!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! And you this really does make me happy!
DeleteThat is so awesome, and who cares what anyone thinks? As long as it makes you happy, continue to do what you love!
ReplyDeleteYep. The only opinions that matter to my are te positive ones. Mary you are one of my digest supporters and I am so glad we met
Deleteoh, nice colour to your "début". People do not understand it is not weird, it is "rare". In my homecountry nobody says "weird" everyone says "rare". I think that's a positive mentality. Is rare, like a precious stone.
ReplyDeleteThis is very profound. I'm not weird, I'm rare! Awesome. Welcome to my blog hope you stay awile
DeleteI got linked here from Lacquer Lad and since I love nail polish guys, I had to add you to my Google Reader immediately! I figured I'd link you to a great facebook group,Polish-aholics Anonymous. https://www.facebook.com/groups/110406659040438/ I hope that once you've got more practice, you start getting into nail art, because you've got so much more space to work with than most girls with their tiny fingers.
ReplyDeleteLeah, Welcome to my blog!
DeleteSince everyone is singing your praises I'm going to skip that and go straight to the important stuff. Just what is that blue?? I must have it....
ReplyDeleteEve, Welcome to my blog. That blue is Zoya Breezi with NYC Matte Me Crazy on top
DeleteThat blue is great! Haters are just jealous))
ReplyDeleteYep,I agree
Deletewow, that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that in my country men can't even think about doing so.
Even I can't pierce my lip or dye my hair blue because I'll never get a job here looking different(
I'm jealous of your courage!
You are awesome, more guys should wear nail polish!!! I dont understand why people are so opposed to it, I think it's great. Keep showing off that nail polish (and you picked some great colours too)!!! :)
